(Akiit.com) Most of us work long hours in sedentary jobs- and so working out is more important than ever. However it’s not it’s not always the easiest to fit in around our other commitments, and it’s even more difficult to keep it up. If you’re already exercising regularly then that’s fantastic, but you of course want to make sure you’re getting the most from your workout and preventing yourself from getting bored. While the right diet and supplements are an obvious way to do so, there are a few other things you might not have thought of. Here are some ideas!
Buy some new workout gear
Feeling good on the outside can make a difference to how you feel on the inside- and going into anything with confidence is good. It’s far from just being shallow, feeling confident and happy with your appearance is a great way to give yourself a boost. If you’ve been working out for a while and your body has changed, some new clothes can help to show off your progress and improve your motivation further. Now we’re approaching the colder months of the year, some new season appropriate gear might be needed. This made in usa rugby shirt for example has long sleeves so ideal if you’re working out outdoors. Throw it over a t-shirt and you can take it off if you get too warm.
Switch up your activity
When you find a routine or exercise that works for you, it’s easy to fall into a rut. While it might be enjoyable at first, the same thing over and over can soon get boring and in the end it can be a struggle finding the motivation to go. Switching up your workouts will keep things fresh and will also keep you challenged. When you’re doing the same exercises over and over, those muscles become developed and able to take the challenge, whereas doing another kind of exercise could show you that you’re not as fit as you think!
If you’ve always stuck to working out on a certain piece of equipment at the gym, why not switch to something else? Or maybe you could take it outside, and try running on the uneven terrain instead of the treadmill. You could try swimming, attend a dance class or just do something you don’t usually do. Even if you do one session and decide its not for you, there are plenty of options and you’re bound to find some new activities you like.
Create a workout playlist
Music can uplift us and boost mood and it can also improve your motivation. A workout playlist of songs you love (and make you want to get moving!) can be a brilliant way to energise you. Chances are you’ll workout harder and for longer but the time will seem to pass more quickly. Music streaming sites like Amazon Unlimited and Spotify give you access to any song you want so you can make a great playlist that’s right for you.
