Life can be a stressful things, filled with work, family and other commitments which pull us in every which way. Sometimes you can feel as if you are a puppet on the end of an invisible string.
Life is too short to be stressed out all of the time. It is important that we take the time to enjoy every second of our lives because these are the only seconds we are afforded. A lot of the time in order to make more time for ourselves, we need to simplify our way of life and cut things out for good.
- Breathe
When was the last time that you truly took a minute to stop and breathe? You might be under the impression that scrolling through your phone each evening is enough, but it’s not. We need to make time to stand in the fresh air, close our eyes and breathe. Remember who you are, your hopes and dreams, and who you want to be. This will give you clarity and allow you to cut unnecessary things out of your life.
- Declutter
A clean space is a clean mind. Clear out your home this month bit by bit. Eg rid of any reminders of old partners, unused clothing and ornaments which you no longer like. If you are unsure on certain items you can compare CDN prices and store them in a container for a few months to test what it would be like to live without. This will allow you to think clearly and feel much more productive.
- Don’t sweat the small stuff
A lot of the stresses and worries we have in our lives are caused by the most tiny and insignificant things. When you take yourself away from the situation you can truly see how petty some of your issues are. The only way to clear your mind and live a simpler life is to stop sweating the small stuff. Don’t worry about things which you cannot change, be content in your life and willing to try new things.
- Own less stuff
Think about minimalist design and how clear and spacious everything looks. The reason for this is that the people who choose to live this way get rid of anything they don’t need, and own less stuff as a result. To simplify your way of life, owning less things is a great way to do it. Just think: if you only have 2 items to clean instead of 10, how much better will you feel?
- Clear your diary
If your week is filled with trips to work, taking the kids to school, going shopping, meeting parents for coffee, going to the gym and much more… it’s no wonder you become exhausted all the time. Sometimes the only way to simplify your life is to clear things out of your schedule. Cut down what you are doing to make your week more freed up, it will give to time to relax at home every now and again.
